Honored by Newsweek as one of the “Women Shaping the 21st Century,” Tiffany Shlain is founder of The Webby Awards, co-founder of the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, an award-winning filmmaker, and a mother. Her films have been selected at over 70 film festivals around the world, including Sundance, Tribeca, and Rotterdam, have won over 20 awards, including Audience and Grand Jury Prizes, along the way, and have been translated into six languages. Her last two films include The Tribe and “Life, Liberty & The Pursuit of Happiness.” Tiffany lectures worldwide on the Internet and her filmmaking and was an Artist-in-Residence at the Headland Center for the Arts. She served as the on-air Internet expert for Good Morning America. Currently, she is the director of The Moxie Institute, an organization that creates media and experiences around social issues using emerging technologies. XANDRA CASTLETON is a writer and filmmaker whose first feature film, Full Grown Men, is currently in post-production. Xandra writes, develops and produces films through Grottofilms, the company she runs with her husband and partner, David Munro. The first two Grottofilms productions were the award-winning short films Compulsory Breathing and Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness, which she co-wrote. Maya Draisin
Co-Writer
Maya Draisin is the Director of Special Projects at WIRED Magazine and co-founder of the Webby Awards and the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, an organization dedicated to the creative, technical, and professional progress of the Internet. Her career is guided by the belief that a well-crafted message in any medium improves lives – educating, entertaining, and moving people to action. She is currently working on a green showcase home, the WIRED LivingHome in Los Angeles. In April 2004, Maya was appointed to the San Francisco Arts Commission, where she has been instrumental in securing funding and negotiating the City's political environment to install high-impact public artworks. She was made Vice President in June 2006.
